Welcome to French and Indian War Foundation's Website

“Preserving and Interpreting the Colonial history of Virginia’s Frontier”

The French & Indian War Foundation is an educational and historical organization guided in everything we do by our mission statement. We host a community interested in exploring the pivotal events of this era that helped to better prepare the colonists for their role in the American Revolution, and the eventual founding of our nation.

A young George Washington, appointed Colonel of the Virginia Regiment in 1756 at the age of 24, was a central figure in these events. Washington built Fort Loudoun in Winchester, VA for the Virginia Regiment, and used it as his base of operations during his time in command from 1756 to 1758. The Foundation’s goal is to relate the events of these times to the public with Col. Washington and Fort Loudoun as central figures of the story.

We hope you will find the information on this site informative and educational and invite you to visit the many other French & Indian War-related sites through links you find here. Perhaps this will lead you on a voyage of discovery to explore and learn more about the Colonial History and founding of our country.
