Kenneth Hoover will display some of his artifacts and speak on “The 60-year war for American Freedom, 1754-1814.”.

Kenneth Hoover will be the keynote speaker at the annual Fombell History Day on Oct. 26. The event is sponsored by the Fombell Area History Group.

Hoover, a former Franklin Township resident who graduated from Lincoln High School in 1959, is a lifelong military artifacts collector. He will display some of his artifacts and speak on “The 60-year war for American Freedom, 1754-1814.”

“This is the first time I’ve had the opportunity to display my collections in my hometown,” Hoover said.

Hoover’s exhibit has been on tour for 11 years, making appearances at historical sites or community organizations including Fort Pitt, the Venango County Historical Society, the Kittanning Tourist Bureau, Old Bedford Village, the Cumberland County Historical Society and the Lorenzo Cultural Center for the Historical Society of Michigan. The museum-quality exhibit won the National Educational Award at the Collector’s Cup Competition in Pittsburgh in spring 2004.
